G-Sports was founded by an athletic director in Indiana because there was a need for affordable gear and he saw an opportunity to help support the sport by filling that void. He sold the company to his son in 1999, and he moved the company to Bloomington, IL.

G-Sports is entering an exciting new era, led by a former collegiate wrestler and avid supporter of the sport, Jay McGee. Jay bought the company in July 2025 with the singular goal of helping grow the sport of wrestling by providing affordable gear to athletes, coaches, teams, clubs, and schools. He never wants the cost of the gear to be a barrier to someone getting involved in the sport that impacted his life so greatly.

For over 50 years, G-Sports has outfitted generations of champions and first-timers alike. Today, we proudly honor that five-decade tradition while injecting fresh energy and a forward-thinking vision for the future. We have officially launched our own line of apparel and team gear to continue to offer high-quality products at an affordable price.
